Book Name : Calculus at IITB
This book on the lectures on Calculus as taught to B.Tech students at I.I.T. Bombay. A web version of this course was developed for NPTEL project sponsored by the MHRD ministry, Government of India. This course aims at providing the reader with basic concepts of calculus (of one and several variables) which find applications in Physics, Chemistry, and various disciplines in Engineering Sciences. Our emphasis will be more on the logical developments of the concepts of calculus in a rigorous fashion. Of course, applications will form an integral part of the course. The book contains no exercises. However, enough examples are provided to illustrate the concepts. |

Book Name : Linear Algebra
It is a text book on linear algebra based on the lectures delivered in DST sponsored "Workshops in Mathematics" and courses taught to B. Tech and M.Sc students at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay over the years.
"Linear Algebra has two aspects: abstract and applied. Both these aspects play important role in diverse branches of mathematics, physics, engineering, economics, and so on. The aim of this book is to present both these aspects of Linear Algebra. We shall try to show how abstract concepts arise out of applications and physical needs, and how abstract concepts can be applied in various problems. |
